Cypress was  bred by Kim Kingsley on the Horse Head Ranch in North Dakota.  She was born late in 2001 came to me in February
of 2002.  Our first few weeks were very interesting because I had never started a foal before and Cyp was a very nervous filly.  Over
the last few years we both have learned an exceptional amount and I am constantly impressed by her ability to adapt and willingness
to perform.  Our triumphs and her beautiful movement and athleticism are what convinced me to purchase her half sister only a few
months after I began working with these horses.
Through the years, Cypress has grown into her potential and is a fantastic example of the Spanish Mustang breed.
She has incredibly smooth movement,  covers trail with an almost effortless consistency and has amazing speed for her size.  She is
gentle and given time she will go anywhere and do anything that is required of her.  I took her with me when I went to my
undergraduate college and then again when I went to graduate school at the U of MN in the Twin Cities and she has been a
beautiful ambassador for the SMR.
In the summer of 2005 we did one competitive trail ride, finishing 25 miles just two weeks after her 4th birthday.  Her stats were
lower at the end of the ride than they were in the beginning.  The new situation made her nervous, but she performed really well!
Hoping to find time for more distance riding in the next couple of years, when I'm done with school.  I am anticipating incredible
foals from her in the future as well, but it is hard to give up a great riding partner!
