Dutchess Adobe Sequoia "Coya"
|
I purchased Coya from Kim Kingsley when she was only two
weeks old in June of 2002, and took her home after her halter training
when she was weaned. Coya is a very well bred mare and has been
extensively handled. Her bloodlines go back to San Domingo, Yellow
Fox, Doby, Pale Face, and Narragansett.
She was sent out for saddle training last year and has been started
on trail work. Her gaits are very smooth and she walks out nicely.
This past June she was in training with a local endurance rider for
competitive trail. I hope to compete with her in competitive trail soon
and I'm excited to see how we'll do! She LOVES to trot and has a
willing attitude. She is calm and deals with obstacles very sensibly
and we are working on conquering more trails and situations this fall.
Although I considered selling her because I hope to diversify my
bloodlines I have decided to keep her because she is becoming such a
great riding horse! This fall we will work on jumping and crossing
into some English riding to see how she will do. I have not ruled out
leasing her as a youth show prospect at this time.
